The Will of Ann Berryman 1795
In the Name of God Amen
I Ann Berryman of Chertsey in the County of Surry Widow
do make my last Will and Testament in manner and
form following that is to say I commend my Soul to God I commit my body to the
Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix
hereinafter appointed and I dispose of my worldly Estates as
follows (Viz) I give devise and bequeath all and every my
Copyhold Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments
situate lying in and being held of the Manor of
Chertsey Beomond in the Parish of Chertsey in the County of Surry
and which I have already surrendered to the use of my will
And also all and singular my personal Estate of every
sort and kind unto Elizabeth Varnden Wife of my Nephew
William Varnden now living with him her Heirs Executors
Administrators and Assigns for ever and I so nominate constitute
and Appoint her the said Elizabeth Varnden to be sole
Executrix of this my last Will and Testament in Testimony
whereof I the said Ann Berryman have hereunto set my
hand and Seal the twenty ninth day of April one thousand
Seven hundred and ninety five A Berryman Signed Sealed
Published and declared by the said Ann Berryman as and
for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who
in her presence and in the presence of each other have
subscribed our names as witness thereof Wm Clark

This Will was proved at London
the sixteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one
thousand Seven hundred and ninety five before the worshipful
John ffisher Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right
Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws and
Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative
Court of Canterbury lawfully Constituted by the oath of
Elizabeth Varnden Widow the Sole Executrix named in the
said Will to whom Administration was granted of all
and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the decd
having been first Sworn duly to Administer
