Manor of Chertsey Beomond

In the County of Surrey


 

At the General Court Baron and Customary Court of James

Cudden the Elder Esquire Lord of the said Manor and holden in and for the sad Manor on

Thursday the twenty first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred

and fifty. Before the said Lord in person and by and before Stephen Restreaux Gentleman

Deputy Steward

It is amongst other things thus Inrolled

 


 

                        Whereas at a General Court held for this Manor of the third day of June one thousand eight hundred and forty six Jane Buckingham

Spinster was admitted Tenant upon the trust mentioned in the will of Benjamin Digsby deceased to all that copyhold messuage or tenement lying and being

in Bell Lane in Chertsey then in the occupation of James Hudson And Whereas at this Court the homage present that in the tenth day of July one thousand

eight hundred and forty nine the said Jane Buckingham of Court in consideration of one hundred and six pounds to her paid by Elizabeth Varnden of Chertsey

in Surrey Spinster surrendered the same copyhold hereditaments and premises to the said Elizabeth Varnden her heirs and assigns according to the custom of

this Manor Now to this Court comes the said Elizabeth Varnden and prays the favor of the Lord of this Manor to admit her tenant to the said copyhold

hereditaments and premises so surrendered to her use as aforesaid and herein before described To which said Elizabeth Varnden the Lord of the Manor by his hands

same with the appurtenances unto the said Elizabeth Varnden her heirs and assigns according to the form and effect of the said Surrender of the Lord

of this Manor at the will of the Lord according to the custom of this manor by the rents fines customs duties suits and services therefore due and of right accustomed

to be paid done and performed And that saving everyone’s right And that paying to the Lord his fine the said Elizabeth Varnden is thus admitted Tenant

but her fealty is respited and so forth
