Will of Elizabeth Stilwell nee Heath, of Thursley, Surrey, widow, 1652 |
In the name of God Amen the Twentith third
day of November in ye yeare of our Lord 1646 I Elizabeth Stilwell of Thursley
in the County of Surrey wid[o]w doe make this my last Will and Testament in
manner following first I bequeath my soule to God and my bodie to bee buryed in
Christian buriall Item I give to the poore people of Thursley foure poundes of
Lawfull money of England to bee payd and distributed in manner following that
is to say Fortie shillings to be payd to the Overseers of the poore for the tyme being
to bee distributed within one moneth next after my decease and the other Fortie
shillings to bee paid at the feast of the Nativitie of Christ next ensueing after
the aforesaid first payment. Item I give to Mary Stillwell the wife of John
Stillwell my naturall daughter fortie shillings of lawfull monie of England
Item I give unto Elizabeth Marten the wife of John Marten my Grandchild forty
of like lawfull money Item I give to Mary the daughter of John Stillwell
fortie shillings of like lawfull money Item I give to Jane the daughter of John
Stillwell fortie shillings Item I give to Allice the daughter of John Stillwell fortie
shillings Item I give to Joane the daughter of John Stillwell forty shillings Item
I give to John the sonne of John Stillwell fortie shillings Item I give to Anthonie
the sonne of John Stillwell fortie shillings Item I give to Elizabeth the wife of
Trunell my naturall daughter Fortie shillings Item I give to John Trunell
the Sonne of John Trunell my Grandchild fortie shillings Item I give to
Richard Trunell my Grandchild fortie shillings Item I give to Robert the Sonne of
John Trunell Fortie shillings Item I give to Thomas the Sonne of John Trunell
my grandchild Fortie shillings Item I give to Anne the daughter of John Trunell
Fortie shillings Item I give to everie one of the household Servants Tenne shillings
a peece Item I give to Anne Harding the wife of Robert Harding my Grandchild
Twentie pounds of Lawfull money of England All which Somes of money to bee
paid within one whole yeare next ensueing after my decease Item I give to
every one of the Children of Richard Stillwell my Grandchildren fortie shillings
a peece Item I give to Richard Stillwell my naturall Sonne all my goodes and
Chattells whatsoever to mee belonging and appteyning whome I doe make my
whole Executor of this my last will and Testament Item I doe appoint Thomas
Shudd and Edmond Yalden my verie good friends to bee Overseers of this my
Will to see it performed and doe give to everie of them six shillings eight pence over
and above any charge they shall bee att about the p[er]forminge of this my Will and Testam[en]t
In wittnes whereof I have hereto sett my hand the day and yeare above written
Signum Elizabeth Stillwell had signed and acknowledged to bee the last Will
and Testament of the above said Elizabeth Stillwell in the presence of us John
Shudd Henry Peto
This will was proved att London before William Foorth Doctor of Lawes
Surrogate to the Right Worshipfull Sir Nathaniel Brent Knight Doctor
of Lawes Mor Keeper of the Prerogative Court the One and Twentieth day of
June in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand six hundred fiftie and two
by the oath of Richard Stillwell the Sonne and Executor named in the said will
To whom Administracon was committed of all and singular the goods chattells
and debts of the said deceased which any manner of wayes concerne the said
Will Hee being first legallie sworne well and truely to administer the same
