The mother of Sally Booth was Mary Washington, born on 30^th October 1805 at Bramhall and baptised on 14th November 1805 at Tiviot Dale Chapel Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Heaton Norris, Lancashire.

Mary was the daughter of William Washington, a weaver, whose ancestry has not yet been traced, and Dinah Hallworth.

William and Dinah were married on 23^rd July 1799 at St Mary's Stockport. William was buried at St Thomas's Norbury on 11^th August 1852, and Dinah was buried there on 29^th September 1861. (Incidentally she seems to be missing from the 1861 Census).

Dinah was baptised at the High Street Presbyterian Chapel in Stockport on 9^th December 1782 as Dinah Haworth. Her parents were John Hallworth and Mary Torkington, who married on 25^th October 1768 at St Mary's Stockport. John's will has recently come to light and this highlights a few children I had not previously got. These are the children: -

John Hallworth was born at Norbury to John Hallworth and Mary Barlow, and was baptised on 27^th March 1737 at Poynton.

His death is only known from his will as occurring on 26^th May 1832, no burial has been located. He was a collier. John Hallworth senior married Mary Barlow on 16^th April 1732 at St Mary's, it has not yet been possible to trace either back.
