The Will of Thomas Berryman 1754 |
In the Name of God Amen
I Thomas Berryman of
being weak in body but of perfect sound mind and memory praised be Almighty
God for the same do make and Ordain this my last Will & Testament In manner following
(Viz) I give and bequeath unto my Son John Berryman All that my Customary Copy
hold Messuage Barn and Orchard Containing One acre by estimation be the same in more
or less now in the Occupation of Robert Wheatly and lying in a Certain Lane
Called Bittams Lane in the parish of Chertsey Aforesaid with all and every the appurtenances
thereunto belonging to him and his heirs and Assigns for ever And Also I give devise and
bequeath unto my son John Berryman and his heirs and assigns for ever all my
Ready money Debts owing unto me Stock of all kinds whatsoever household goods and
all and every part and parcel of my personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever to be
found, (my Just Debts & Funerall expences being first paid and discharged) And all
the rest and Residue of all and singular my Estate I give devise and bequeath unto
my loving son John Berryman, whom I nominate and appoint full and Sole Executor
of this my last Will and Testament, and do hereby Revoke and make void all
former or other Wills by me made either by Word of mouth or in Writing

In Witness whereof to this my present last Will and Testament I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of January in the Twenty fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second and in the year of Our Lord 1750 Thomas Berryman

I further bequeath unto my Grandchildren
John and Richard Smith five pounds each to be paid
by my Executor as soon as they arrive at the age of
Twenty one years and this my codicil I make part
of my above will to all Intents and purposes
